Role Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned and proactive SCM leader to head the supply chain function at our power transformers manufacturing plant in Sitarganj. The role demands deep domain expertise, strategic foresight, and hands-on leadership to ensure uninterrupted, cost-effective, and quality-driven material flow across the value chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage end-to-end supply chain operations including procurement, logistics, planning, inventory, and stores.
- Develop and implement SCM strategies that align with production, quality, and business objectives.
- Expertise in booking critical raw materials like Copper, CRGO laminations, and Steel in advance, leveraging favourable market trends and price fluctuations.
- Establish and nurture strategic business relationships with vendors to ensure timely and reliable material deliveries.
- Continuously optimize inventory levels to reduce working capital without impacting production timelines.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement through effective team management, training, and development.
- Ensure SCM function is aligned with QMS (Quality Management System) standards and audit requirements.
- Leverage ERP (Microsoft Dynamics 365 BC) and other digital tools to enhance process efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
- Stay abreast of the latest SCM systems, practices, and market trends relevant to the Indian capital equipment manufacturing industry.
- Maintain an optimally sized, agile, and high-performing team structure.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments including Production, Engineering, Quality, and Finance.
- Prepare and monitor key SCM performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and cost competitiveness.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, MBA in Supply Chain Management / PGDM from IIMM preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in SCM, with at least 5 years in leadership (Head of SCM) role in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in reputed and professionally managed Power Transformers/heavy engineering/electrical capital equipment/Automotive industry with sales turnover of minimum 1000 Crore.
- Proficiency in ERP systems
- Sound knowledge of commodity procurement and vendor development and management strategies.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- QMS-oriented and familiar with lean SCM practices.
- Excellent communication skills – spoken, written, and comprehension – in English.
- Willing to work full-time from the Sitarganj plant.
