Job Summary:

To provide leadership and guidance to junior engineers, ensuring accurate and timely designs, while fostering a culture of manufacturability, productivity, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and development of G.A. and Manufacturing drawings, Parts drawings, specifications, BOMs and any other information complying with the customer specifications and engineering guidelines for 132kV, 220kV and 400kV power transformers.
  2. Supervise and mentor junior engineers, supporting their professional development.
  3. Oversee allocation of work and monitor team progress.
  4. Encourage the reduction of design lead times within projects.
  5. Promote efficient and advanced use of software tools.
  6. Validate team deliverables for accuracy and compliance.
  7. Facilitate improvements based on test performance and site feedback.
  8. Guide the team in applying preventive and corrective design measures.
  9. Balance cost, manufacturability, and performance in design solutions.
  10. Participate and contribute to RCA and CAPA for avoiding recurrence of issues.
  11. Provide constructive feedback and ensure effective training for juniors.
  12. Share weekly progress reports with the Head – Mechanical Engineering.
  13. Learn and ensure accuracy in ERP / BOM entries
  14. Adhere to the Prepared by–Checked by–Approved by system before releasing drawings, BOMs and any other Engineering information to the concerned functions.
  15. Any other tasks that are assigned from time to time based on organizational needs

Qualification:

BE/BTech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Experience: 

Min 5 -10 years in 132kV power transformers. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in design of 220kV class and above rating transformers.
